Frequently Asked Questions

Get Informed

Welcome to our community! Whether you're curious about our local dining meetups or our signature international culinary tours, we’ve gathered answers to help you understand the Global FoodSocial experience.

The Global FoodSocial Philosophy

Q: What exactly is Global FoodSocial?

A: We are a community-first travel and dining platform. Our mission is to solve the "solo traveler's dilemma" by using food as a bridge to connection. We curate authentic culinary experiences where the social atmosphere is just as important as the menu.

Q: Who typically joins your events and tours?

A: Our community is made up of "Global Foodies"—curious, open-minded individuals who value authenticity over tourist traps. While many of our members are solo travelers aged 25–65+, we welcome anyone who believes that the best way to discover a culture is through its kitchen.

International Culinary Tours

Q: I’m traveling alone. How do you handle the social aspect?

A: This is our specialty. Most guests arrive solo. We foster a "found family" atmosphere from the moment you land. We organize "welcome" ice-breakers and communal dining styles (like family-sharing plates) to ensure no one ever feels like an outsider.

Q: What is the "FoodSocial Expert" difference?

A: We don't just hire random guides. Our tours are often hosted by our founder or local culinary experts (like Penang natives for our Malaysia tour) who have deep, personal ties to the region. You get access to "Meet the Maker" experiences that regular tourists simply can't book.

Q: What is included in the tour price?

A: We aim for an all-inclusive "on-the-ground" experience. This generally includes boutique accommodations, most meals, all scheduled culinary workshops/tastings, ground transport, and expert hosting. International flights and travel insurance are excluded.

Local Events & Dining

Q: Do you host events in my city?

A: We are constantly expanding! Currently, we have a strong presence in Australia and are launching global chapters. Check our "Upcoming Events" page or join our newsletter to see when we’re hosting a table near you.

Q: What happens at a Global FoodSocial dining event?

A: It’s like a dinner party with friends you haven't met yet. We partner with unique restaurants to offer curated menus. A FoodSocial host is always there to facilitate introductions, so you never have to worry about "small talk" anxiety.
